Dear Colleagues & Friends:
Many of us for the rest of our lives will relive the
events of September 11, 2001, for those in the financial services community it will be a time to remember our many colleagues, friends and relatives that were lost in the tragedy. Our shock at
the horrendous act quickly evolved into a national and global resolve to overcome the challenges presented by one horrific act and rallied together to rebuild New York in particular and the nation's spirit.
In the spirit of rebuilding, Needham & Company has established the Needham September 11th Scholarship Fund. The fund as established is designed to
benefit the children of the victims who lost their lives in the World Trade Center. Besides the obvious and most important requirement of being a surviving
dependent child, the awarding of funds is primarily based upon the individual need, scholastic abilities and community/civic involvement. The purpose of the
fund is to ensure that each victims' child be provided with an opportunity for a private seconday and/or college-level education. Fund allocations will be limited to those individuals who have a pre September 11th gross income of less than
$125,000.00 per household. Scholarships will be awarded to either those individuals who have been accepted or are presently attending an accredited
private high school, university or college. Each applicant will be considered on his or her merits, on a case-by-case objective and non-discriminatory basis.
We understand that there are many charitable organizations soliciting
contributions for causes related to the tragedy of September 11, 2001 and that many generous individuals have already answered the call for aid. The one
discerning factor that should be contemplated as you consider whether to contribute to the Needham September 11th Scholarship Fund is that 100% of the
funds will be awarded to needy scholarship recipients.
Please use the attached pledge form to make a donation today. For tax
advantages, some may prefer to contribute securities rather than cash. For additional information please call (212) 705-0314 or e-mail us at jturano@needhamco.com. Thank you in advance for your consideration in helping
us help others obtain a brighter future.
Best Regards,
