Raymond Godfrey co-founded Needham & Company in 1985. He rejoined Needham & Company in 2000. With over 40 years of experience, Ray’s principal focus is the coordination, business development and marketing of Needham’s corporate and venture services and asset management capabilities. After concluding a successful restructuring of a $300 million NASDAQ company, and re-starting Laidlaw Equities in 1991, Ray joined Hampshire Securities in 1995 as principal and Head of Capital Markets. In 1998, Gruntal & Co. acquired Hampshire Securities, where he continued to serve for two years as senior managing director – Equity Capital Markets. Prior to founding Needham in 1985, Ray was vice president of Business Development at Credit Suisse First Boston beginning in 1977. Earlier in his career, he worked at Merrill Lynch and Time Inc. He also served as an Assistant Administrator of New York City under John V. Lindsay. He received his BA from Yale University and his MBA from Harvard. He has been on the Evaluation Committee of Edelson Technology Partners since its founding in 1984.

Colleen Holmes joined Needham & Company in 2003. With over 15 years of experience in alternative investments and asset management, Colleen’s principal focus is assisting with the coordination and marketing of Needham’s corporate services and asset management capabilities. Her expertise specifically lies in Stock Repurchase Plans, Restricted Stock Sales, Block Trades, and the implementation of 10b5-1 sales plans for insiders and officers. She is also focused on managing the needs of our venture fund clients with their corporate governance & liquidity matters and supports operations and trading on daily activities. Prior to joining Needham, she worked at Brown Brother’s Harriman, W.P. Carey & Company and Norfolk Markets. She received a BS in Business administration from the University of Dayton in 1995.
