David Grove joined Needham & Company in February 2010. David serves as a Managing Director covering Internet and Digital Media. His experience includes a wide variety of equity, debt and private placement financings and advisory assignments for a diverse set of companies including digital media, cleantech and semiconductors. David has led a substantial number of high profile IPOs and follow-ons including DTS, Monotype Imaging, Lexar Media and DivX. He has spent the past 10 years in Technology Investment Banking. Prior to joining Needham, David was a Managing Director at Bank of America, focused on a diverse client base including Digital Media clients. He began his investment banking career at Cowen & Co. where he helped found its Digital Media investment banking effort. Earlier in his professional career, David served as a corporate attorney at Andrews & Kurth, LLP in Houston, Texas, advising clients in complex transactions. He holds a JD from New York University School of Law, and a BS, magna cum laude, from Oregon State University.

Churchill Lewis

Churchill Lewis joined Needham & Company (having previously worked at Needham from 1994 to 1997) in 2002. Church was a diplomat to the United Nations in the early 1990s in Central Europe, responsible for privatization programs in the region, and ran the Boston office of Needham from 1994 to 1997. He started his own firm focused on European growth companies, which he sold to a London-based investment bank in 2000. Church began his investment banking career at Alex. Brown & Sons, Inc. in 1984, where he started and ran that firm’s Consumer group, serving as lead banker in more than 40 transactions. He is a graduate of Stanford University, Columbia Law School and Harvard Business School.

Steven Miller joined Needham & Company in 2006. His responsibilities include the origination and execution of various public and private financings and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Needham, Steven worked as the Corporate Financial Analyst for L-3 Communications and a Senior Analyst at Sirius Satellite Radio. He graduated from Babson College with a BS in Finance and Investments and earned an MBA in Finance from New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business.

Mike Staff joined Needham & Company in 2006. His responsibilities include the origination and execution of public and private financings, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Needham, Mike worked as a research associate for Aurora Investment Management, LLC (formerly known as Harris Alternatives, LLC), a $10 billion fund of hedge funds. He possesses a Masters in Finance from the ICMA Center at the University of Reading and graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Arts in Government. He has passed Level 2 of the Chartered Financial Analyst program.
