Richard deNey joined Needham & Company in 2004. Since joining Needham, Rick has directed M&A engagements in all areas of the firm’s investment banking practice, including semiconductor capital equipment, semiconductors, software, telecom equipment and services, industrial growth and healthcare. Under his leadership, the firm has doubled the number of M&A transactions and increased deal volume fourfold. He began his investment banking career in the First Boston M&A Group, where he worked in all aspects of the firm’s M&A practice with particular experience for clients in the energy, aerospace and defense industries. Rick was subsequently Head of International M&A for Bankers Trust and Bear Stearns, and executed cross-border M&A transactions for U.S., European and Asian companies and private equity firms. Before joining Needham, he played a leadership role in restructuring a KKR investment, Borden, and was senior vice president, Strategy and Development, for EDS, and head of strategy and corporate development for Scient, a leading Internet services firm. He holds a BES in Electrical Engineering from the John Hopkins University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Jim Apostolides joined Needham & Company in 2008. Jim has 34 years of experience as an investment banker, a strategy consultant and a corporate executive. Most recently, he was a managing director at Citigroup, where he was responsible for the investment banking relationship with a single client, GE, on a global basis. Before that, he spent several years in executive roles at Accenture, Oracle and BearingPoint, executing special projects of a financial and strategic nature. Jim began his career at McKinsey & Company, helping clients develop strategies to address growth, resource allocation, turnaround and diversification issues. He became an investment banker in 1982 and gained extensive experience in all forms of M&A execution, working with such clients as GM, Hughes Aircraft, EDS and IBM. He joined Morgan Stanley in 1997, where he successfully led the building of broad institutional relationships with KKR, Accenture and GE. He has a BS in Operations Research and an MBA in Finance, both from New York University.

Gunjeet Baweja joined Needham & Company in 2007. Before joining Needham, Gunjeet worked at Instream Partners focusing on investment banking transactions for semiconductor and related companies. Previously, he was a vice president of Investment Banking at SoundView Technology Group for three years focusing on transactions in the technology space. Gunjeet has worked on over 50 transactions. For seven years prior to that, he worked at Intel Corporation, where he held positions in strategic marketing and microprocessor design. He received his BE in Electronics Engineering from M.S. University, India, an MS in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech, and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.

Scott Glaid joined Needham & Company in 2006. Prior to joining Needham, Scott was a senior analyst at technology investment bank Ion Partners LLC. He possesses a Masters of Finance from the Institute of Political Studies, Paris, and graduated with highest honors from Boston College. He is a Level III candidate for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Brian Perrault joined Needham & Company in 2004. Prior to joining Needham, Brian worked in the Advanced Space Systems & Concepts Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. He has almost 10 years of investment banking experience working with companies on complex M&A transactions, business strategy and strategic alternatives. He has a BS in Physics from Saint Michael’s College and an MBA from Northeastern University.
